Firewall recs?

I can go on LJ now! =D I downloaded the free version of ZoneAlarm, was going to turn off NIS (leaving only antivirus on) and run ZA... then thought oh well, I might as well try using both at the same time and it WORKS! I can read my flist! *w00t* So I'm not losing any protection yet still able to use LJ now.

Ok so this is like really weird, and I'm sure it has got nothing with the reboot. I just turned off ZA and am running NIS only again... and I can still go on LJ! *freaks out*

And oh you know? Because both Arith and I were cranky tonight, we wrote cranky Fuji and cranky Tezuka. Afterwards we felt a LOT better. *pets Fuji and Tezzie* Otsukareta~~~

Yo. People who have never had problems with LJ skip skip skip this entry.

People who have, well I had as well and now it's all solved. LJ has never been so FAST and NO-REFRESHING (^^") on my comp. Here's what I did:

1. Download free home version of ZoneAlarm from http://www.zonelabs.com/

2. Install, (may need to reboot), and ZA will run on comp automatically.

3. Here's the funny bit. I let it run alongside my normal firewall and I can access LJ. I turn ZA off, I can still access LJ. I uninstall it? LJ is hell again. *blink blink*

It seems like this method has also worked for arithion. If you're going to try this too, please let me know if it works for you or not :)

Deadlines

15th June (Tue)
4pm - FYP deadline. I know I said Monday, that's because I need to show it to my supervisor for last minute corrections before handing it in.

18th June (Fri)
11:30am - Project viva with Cheeseman and Butler (why oh why do I have to get the director of undergraduate studies?) (but then I suppose that's still better than Darren who's getting Tsang... somehow I think a Q&A session with Butler is better than with Tsang)
3pm onwards - Poster session. I need to produce A3 posters (2 max) that will give show what my project was about.

Then I'm flying home on 22nd.

Still tired after waking up. Perhaps I should sleep a bit more so that I can concentrate on my calculations better. *pokes FYP*

Oh those photos! I'm making lightweight concrete aggregate by expanding waste glass. The little blobs are leftover calcium oxide from the chemical reaction that made the glass expand. So the pics were of my product - just glass, no concrete in it. It actually looks like this.

ZA ver.5 clashes with my IIS (server, basically). Checked the net and it's a known issue, rolled back to ver.4.5 and the world's a merry place again.

I really did go to sleep. Didn't wake up until about half an hour ago. Can't believe I slept that much, looks like I won't be sleeping tonight.

And now, dinner time! Sparkly shiney wobbles to all the wubblable wobblers!

In other news, I went to this site whilst browsing through the net for glass recycling info, and laughed my ass off.
