I've (finally) sat down to start my interim report. *sigh* I should've started it weeks ago. And it's due in on Tuesday!!!!

My degree marking system goes like this:
1st year: 1000
2nd year: 2000
3rd year: 3000
4th year: 3000
Final year project: 1000

Totalling to 10000 marks. I think this interim report (of the final year project) is about 10% of the project mark. Which makes it oh, 1% of my entire MEng degree. It is important though, coz doing it will help me do the actual project later. But I just can't get myself started... >_<

Wanna ask something, since everyone's from different countries... is where you come from heavily promoting the ideas of "reduce, reuse, recycle"? Do people automatically sort their recyclable stuff from regular garbage before dumping it, what sort of incentives do they give you to recycle, do they teach it in school, etc? *offers cookies* Please reply!

Yes, they do teach it in school. Most big supermarkets here have recycling facilities for paper, glass and often tins and rags too. An increasing number of local councils also collect recyclables from the doorstep too, including ours - we get a green box and a big blue plastic bag; paper goes in the bag and tins and glass in the box, collected on the same day of the week as the rest of the garbage, only once a fortnight.

I wouldn't say it's heavily promoted, but it is promoted.

If I can be of any more help I know a bit about recycling in the UK, and know others who know more - so just ask. Good luck with the assignment!

Are you sure the project is 10% of 10000??

I thought 4th year total is 3000, which includes the project...better check the green book at the college later......

Oh darn it, really? >_<

I'd go check the green book, except it's in bits & pieces now, and logging on to IC VPN to check always make my net connection go funny, and I'm trying to download things... ^^"

Let me know when you find out!
