Video help!
Jan. 8th, 2004 02:33 amCall for help from my sister: Why can't she view her video files? She has installed the same codec packs as me, but she just can't see videos in Windows Media Player, Real One *or* DivX Player. Sometimes she gets the sounds, but no picture.
Please help!

Date: 2004-01-07 06:49 pm (UTC)Have her uninstall what codecs she can via Add/Remove programs under the Control Panel.
Then have her install Nimo's Codec Pack. That should hopefully solve her problems.

Date: 2004-01-07 07:03 pm (UTC)AnimeSuki usually recommends:
Either WMP 9 or WMP 6.4 [that's the classic Windows Media Player]
AND
FFDSHOW (codecs):

install ffdshow, divx3.11a and the other divx
and also the AC3 codec
with WMP9 this should get you through 99% of the avi files on the modern internet.
