Video help!
Jan. 8th, 2004 02:33 amCall for help from my sister: Why can't she view her video files? She has installed the same codec packs as me, but she just can't see videos in Windows Media Player, Real One *or* DivX Player. Sometimes she gets the sounds, but no picture.

Date: 2004-01-07 08:29 pm (UTC)But I have both WMP 9 and the classic version installed (and BS Player) and they all work... it probably depends on one's installation and other softwares and stuff... it also help if you are technically efficient (I'm not ^_~).
The worst problem, I find, is that coders are going more and more overboard with using unstable codecs/formats when subbing/ripping, so it's like a neverending saga trying to play some files...
I always check the Playback section of the AnimeSuki forums, when I have a problem... 99% of the time? It's already been discussed there...

That's my number one pet peeve as well. People are always using beta codecs to encode their files which is just insane. No guarantee that your audience will even be able to view the file once the stable release is out. -_-
