Oh, I appear to have signed up to a writing thing. Not due for five months, though. Gives me plenty of time to write, rewrite and rerewrite.

[deleted paragraph] Since the comments are pretty interesting I'm going to unlock this entry and I don't want what was here to be public. XD

[edit] Massive huge spoilers for TLR in the comments, don't read if you don't want to be spoiled. (I guess that's just [livejournal.com profile] vanillafire on my friends list right now. XD)

Hmm, point. But surely he could do that with just the Gae Bolg anyway?

Maybe Dave (like any Lord would be, I suspect) is just feeling grabby about any Remnants that he might possibly be able to get hold of? More is more, and all that--and the talisman is unbound at that point, so he stands a chance of being able to use it.

Possibly. But although the GB is very powerful, it's not totally almighty. If they're fighting on two fronts, then they're screwed. XD

*nod* Also the fact that they'd never seen a talisman before? It was made from a Remnant using the tablet, so it's something that's "hey, it exhibits a Remnant's power but it's so... little?"

And Dave just can't resist the shiny.

Hmm, that's a point.

As is that, actually--I guess they'd never seen a talisman before. No wonder they're curious. Though at that point they've only seen it do its shielding thing--do you think they'd know it had other powers?

Dave is at least as intrigued by the pretty that comes with the shiny, I think. :P

They probably had no idea, which was why Torgal asked Rush about it at Dillmore.

Oh wait, remember what Torgal said then? He wanted to know if the talisman could be used "outside of battles"! I guess it's the gamemakers' way to introduce the timeshift ability, but still... what if Athlum is after a Remnant that's not for fighting? Maybe they're wondering if the protection power they saw at Yaman Plain can be used to cover the whole of Athlum? Or am I stretching this too far?

Heh. That goes without saying!

Hmmm, maybe. It's a nice thought, though--wanting a defensive Remnant rather than an offensive one.

Poor Rush. If he weren't so oblivious, he'd probably get upset at the idea that Dave was only after him for his talisman.

Rush really is pretty easy-going. Even when Athlum had his background checked, he just went, "that's fine, I'm used to it." *shrug & smile* Whether he was aware of Dave's original intention or not, it probably did't matter to him, because Dave said he'd help find Irina.

What a darling. ♥ Makes me want to pat him on the head. Dave most likely wants to pat him in other places. XD

He is absurdly trusting. I'm glad he didn't run up against someone like Hermeien *first*--it's not like Dave was exactly thinking just of Rush's best interests at first, but the other options for people who might have taken him in are much, much worse.

Dave gets very protective quite fast, I noticed in this playthrough. :P It's very sweet.
