More comments than ever for the Rikkai doujinshi post yesterday because I asked for it. I had to ask for it! 1 in 3 viewings resulted in a comment. XD; sharpie~ I have an idea! Every month, throw people off devil_mode if they haven't commented even once during that period. And ban them from joining again. It'll give me lots of satisfaction. \XD/ (see discussion in comments!)

A quick word count revealed that I've written 64k words so far this year. In the beginning of 2008 I was aiming to reach 100k this year, like I did in 2007, but it looks like I won't reach the target. Though, I'm not too disappointed with the word count because I wrote quite a few stories I like. :3

hmm, actually, yes. can't but agree. (I apologize for lack of comment-formatting skills, its really 10th or so comment in my life =)))

I cant say for everyone of course but commenting seems even harder for me when it comes to fics. I don't know. I guess I am just a retard, because most of the time after reading a fic I am either "ohmygodthisissototallygreatsupercool" or "oh well. not my cup of tea". And I dont know what to say on both occasions because I can hardly provide any meaningful comment to support my opinion. But I guess that my personal problem and is a lame excuse because this is the way fandoms die.

I am so sorry for never saying a "thank you" on Todokanai comm. I will try to learn from it. Without enthusiasm of people like you, guys, what would a fandom be like?

With fics, it really does depend on the author. Most of the authors I know, including me, would welcome comments that simply say "I liked it". There might be some who prefer meaningful/long comments, but I don't know of anybody who actually dislike short ones. :)
