Wet socks. Ewwww.
Sheep sent me recipes for making chocolate truffles and one "choco crispy cake". The former only need rather basic ingredients so I might try make some. If you happen to see me some time this week, don't be surprised to receive random chocolate from me. :D
*randomly tempts Liz with chocolate cake from cook book*
Erm, this is very random, but I'm curious. Could you guys please tell me what sorts of things you don't eat, for whatever reasons (dieting, allergy, religion, ew it's disgusting)? (
lpatobe, I think
tez_plush is curious about your culinary preferences, too.)
At some point this week I might need to pop to China Town to buy things to make "turnip cake" with, depending on whether I can actually be bothered. Could just go on Saturday and buy a ready-made one I guess, but those never taste as good.
giving_ground~ I totally forgot about the eye test thing. :D; oh well, it's good for a year anyway.

Date: 2007-02-12 04:55 pm (UTC)Ironically enough the processed veggie food that doesn't have wheat in tends to be Quorn. ;_;
Tesco do a reasonable 'free from' range, though. And I quite like cooking so we have lots of stir-fries, home-made bakes and things. And chips are fine. ♥
Mushrooms are the biggest problem for both ready-made food and eating out, though - they're in everything: pretty much any veggie lasagne, bake or even nut roasts have them in, and I can't tolerate them at all. :(

Date: 2007-02-12 07:38 pm (UTC)This is very interesting for me - as far as I know, Chinese people usually don't suffer from food allergies. When someone doesn't eat something, it's almost always a lifestyle choice. It's only after I started living here that I realise how food allergies can affect people. Now, when I eat with someone for the first time, I try to remember to ask whether they have something they don't eat. I don't think a lot of my Chinese friends here do that.
Just out of curiosity (it's okay if you don't tell me)... what'd happen if you ate mushrooms by accident?
