The ryokan I want to book is shut/don't have rooms for 3 days over Christmas. The other one has just changed it website in a way that I can't figure things out anymore.

Just to let you know, that should the worst come to the worst, there's a safety net in the form of two places to sleep at my place (if not beds).

There's a karaoke-kan in Ikebukuro doing these incredible almond-milk-jelly drinks right now. They're fantastic -- we should go there! :)
