There are soooo many things I want to talk about I don't even know where to start! And there are good things on flist to read (Hana wrote ZukaFuji!!!) but that'll all have to wait. Because I must start typing before I forget anything important.
1. Boring stuff:
My tooth that got emergency treatment on Wednesday night last week? The filling fell out on Saturday night. There's a massive hole in my tooth right now. But it doesn't actually hurt.
The top layer of my pink hair has been sunbleached. I'm now parting it on the other side so that it's still pink.
2. Other stuff
We watched DD-Boys. Our minds are mush. Nakamura is too cute as a girl.
We rented and watched the SailormoonMyu that has Shirota as Tuxedo Kamen. Our minds are mushed again. We have decided the musical was about a cosplay knife sold for 5000 yen on ebay, a macho baker, Mamoru being the only man on the planet, and meat cakes.
3. Tenimyu stuff.
sdfajkfhsajkfhsajikfhsdakjl OH MY GOD. IT WAS GOOD. IT WAS SO. GOOD. But I suppose I need to talk about this in some sort of order, so I'll start from the beginning of the day...
I woke up at around 6:30 (having slept at 4 or 4:30), left at 7am to get to the venue at 9. The doors open at 11, but it turned out to be a good thing that I went early. Why?
I MET TAKUYA AND KENKEN.
I was just walking, going around the venue so that I could reach the front door. And this young man just walked towards me. I did a double take. IT WAS TAKUYA. He was heading for the side entrance behind me. At that point, some fangirls near the front entrance discovered him and all shouted ohayo gozaimasu. He kinda paused then (right in front of me), said good morning back to them and kept walking. I said morning too and he smiled and nodded.
(nobody mobs the actors here, apparently. They're all civilised >_>)
And then, I got to the front entrance. There were about 15-20 people there waiting. A little while later, KENKEN appeared. It was raining and there was staff holding umbrella for him. He walked right in front of me! And the good morning thing happened again. He smiled at me. He was literally within arm's reach. (I was very tempted to call him Hime-chan ^^"""")
I never liked Takuya. KenKen was okay. BUT THEY ACTUALLY ARE SO CUTE IN PERSON. I could not believe it. I always thought people look good only on screen. BUT I WAS WRONG. THEY WERE TOTALLY TOTALLY CUTE.
So... the actual show. I went to both afternoon and evening performances on the same day. It was GREAT. I had so much fun! I understood all of it apart from the bit just after the intermission, where Gakuto (early show) / Shishido (evening show) talked to Sakaki and said something that made the whole audience roar with laughter. I really wish I could understand :( Gakuto said something about Jiro and Shishido about Ohtori. Oh and I did't get one of Dabide's puns. But hey, Japanese word play is too high level for me!
Sort-of-actor-by-actor impressions:
Fuji - Aiba sang so well! And he out-danced everyone else in Seigaku. The team as a whole danced well but because Aiba was so pro, he made other people look very inferior XD He needs to eat. His thighs were the size of my calves. Totally scary DX
Momo - There was an accident involving the pudding and Dabide's tennis racket (the prop fell apart), so, while collapsed on the ground, Momo picked up the pudding and put it back on the racket XD He was obviously doing his best to not crack up (the audience were laughing and clapping). It was so endearing. Performance-wise he was not bad, but Taka-san obviously out-sung him in their duet. And his eyebrows annoyed me ^^"
Ryoma - He was very cute looking, but his voice wasn't cute enough I think. He did well though! I like him :D I mean, Yanagi wasn't bad, but having a Ryoma who can sing and dance is a good idea.
Taka - Despite being a lot older he blended in well with the cast! He was obviously a lot more experienced. His singing was good!
Tezuka - I'm totally biased here because I just somehow liked Minami since the day I started reading his blog. But OMG I LOVE HIM. His Tezuka... was very chibi!Tez XD He reminded me of first/second year Tez XD; His dancing was good and he had a good voice. He didn't have that feeling of overpowering authority but... I really like him XD; When Oishi took him around to make Ryoma try to hit tree leaves, Momo try to knock over tree stumps etc... Tezuka was just FUNNY. Oh and the "Yuudan sezu ni ikou" song will never be the same again XDDDDDD *cracked up badly* I won't say why, just wait for the DVD. But overall? I can imagine people saying he isn't as good a Tez compared with Shirota and I can understand why. But he has his own appeal, I think. His Tezuka is more of the real Tez's age. ^^""
Oishi - Oishi was brilliant! He looked and sounded like an Oishi to me :D
Inui, Eiji, Kaidou - Kujirai's goodness needs no description. I felt Inui and Eiji were rather unimpressionable =/ But there is room for development ^^
Ichinen-trio - Horio and Kachiro were brilliant. Katsuo was good except that when he sang and danced, he kept looking UP instead of FORWARD, which wasn't good at all.
Seigaku as a whole was not bad, but they seemed to lack to cohesiveness as a team, when compared with Rokkaku... the "Seigaku Fight!" opening song was not as catchy as the old opening songs. But the dance has pelvic thrusts XD;;;;
Aoi - I didn't like Aoi Kentaro until now. This Aoi is so great, so adorable... you have to see it to believe it.
Saeki - dxfhsdfsjkahdf he was soooo Saeki. That's all I have to say!
Itsuki - He didn't to the NAN-DE stuff, much to my relief. But that sort of took the characteristic away a bit... none-the-less he wasn't bad at all.
KisaRyo - :D He didn't have much to do XD;
Bane & Dabide - These two have to be talked about together. THEY WERE GREAT. Especially IRE. Their song was funny (and jazzy), they looked like they've been friends since time memorial; the dynamics between them is incredible. They had to be the best ones in the whole musical.
Overall, the Rokkaku actors really looked like a team who have been friends since childhood! I'm now a Dabide and Bane fan XDDDD It probably helped that during the final song when I sat in the front, Dabide came down to the aisle and danced right next to me. If I were to lean to the left a bit I would've had a face-full of Dabide-crotch. Yes, he was THAT CLOSE. XDDDD
Hyotei - Kazuki is the sex. When he's on stage I could hardly look at anyone else (except Minami XD; Minami always wins) His singing was SO AMAZING. There was a song, I guess it's called "Remember Hyotei", in which he sang the first line or two without music. His voice just rang in the hall like... WOW. And his solo was also incredible. Hyotei had really good songs. When they sang "Seasons", they posed every now and then, in time with the music. At first they were all just posing, but after a while they were starting to pose in silly ways and all the audience laughed XD Ohtori laid his head on Kabaji's shoulder when Kabaji waited for his turn to sing XD Hiyoshi was really, really good. He brought out that Hiyoshi-ness completely, his singing was great, as was his dancing. Oshitari was sexy. Shishido was cute, as were Gakuto and Jiro.
So, yeah. That was the myu. For the evening performance I was in the 5th row so I saw everyone uber clearly. Even if you're at the very back though, it's still very clear because the hall is so small! It looks big on DVD but literally, honestly, it's only the size of a school stage, if that. It is THAT SMALL. So even if you're at the back you aren't really that far away. But yes, I was up front enough to admire Kazuki's muscle tones during a certain scene :P
One thing I only found out during the musical: when there are many actors on the stage, it's hard to see everything. On DVD you only see who the camera's focused on, but in the background other chars are reacting to what's happening on stage as well and there's always a lot going on. During large group scenes/songs, I wished I had 20 pairs of eyes.
Oh, at one of the curtain calls, Tezuka left his glasses behind, Ryoma picked them up and put them back on Buchou for him XD It was cute! Minami and Sakurada were both just very, very cute people. I came out of the myu squeeing like I had never squeed before because it was so good.
So. Yes. Dabide and Bane. And Atobe. And Tezuka. And Aoi. Look out for them. Wait for the DVD. Buy it. It's GOOD. Kat, who watched it with me, said it was better than DL3, which she also watched live.
Now I'm going to check up on the performances tomorrow, I might go there to try my luck on seeing the actors in the morning and getting an on-the-day ticket... I totally would not mind seeing it for a 3rd time!!!
shazz_chan, this is for you.
And I think that's all for now!
