Date: 2006-07-13 11:20 am (UTC)This kind of thing seems to follow me around. Back in year zero, guess who was Interrailing in Britain when there were strikes for several weeks? Yeah, that was me. I'll never forget walking through a completely deserted Victoria Station in the middle of the day and looking at this genuine old-fashioned blackboard where somebody had hand-written that "the following trains will run today", followed by maybe five or six connections... and thus I never dared go to Scotland, among many other places, because I couldn't be sure that I'd ever get back before my Interrail card expired.
