Lineage II has been installed. Now waiting for it to download all the updates. Looks like it'll take a looooong time.

For those who know, which servers are good and which should be avoided like the plague?

(Yes, I'm gaming again. Don't think it'll affect my writing output though. In fact I need this break D: Yukimura keels mah head, yesh he does.)

Ah yes. Gaming. One of the most frustrating things about my computer is its total inability to run any game more advanced than, say, Starcraft or Diablo 2. And it runs those kind of badly.

I play EQ2 about three times a year. This is really a very frustrating way to play, as I log in to discover that the combat system has morphed, or that I've just forgotten what the hell all my active quests were, or... you know.

Meep. That does suck. EQ2 sooooo takes over one's life though, so maybe it's not that bad you can't/don't play it often.

I now have a character in Lineage II called Yagyuu. Go me and my originality.

can't, or I would, obsessively -- I play it on my boyfriend's brother's computer sometimes. Heh. That is basically my only access to computer games. I use a really aged and dying laptop (cd drive is now deceased, and the screen got smashed a year ago so it has to have an external monitor now), so gaming just doesn't happen.

I have sat and stared at the screen for hours trying to think of names for characters in computer games, and you don't even want to know about my character name track record in pen&paper RPGs. It's... painful. My EQ2 character is called Mela, I think, after some obscure figure from Tolkien's writing.

Which server are you playing on? I left the usual private servers after going through a few; am playing on one a friend set up now, could ask her to set up an account for you :D The difference would be population (mainly 3 of us on at any time, servers like Tainted and L2Max have 100, Paradise has near 1000), server downtime (actually, most servers crash anyway :p) and difficulty crafting gear at higher levels (the system is kinda insane, but basically the shops only sell gear for your level up to level 40). But those 3 people are very nice! (even Chrissie who is, you know, EVIL) and the major private servers are mostly too macho and pk-happy for my enjoyment.
