"In 1785, Paris decided to solve the problem of its overflowing cemeteries by exhuming the bones of the buried and relocate them in the tunnels of several disused quarries, leading to the creation of the Catacombes. Visitors to this disturbing 'attraction' will find themselves 20m (65ft) underground, working their way along corridors stacked with bones.
People over 60 can get in for free, which says a lot about the French sense of humour."

Date: 2005-07-26 07:45 pm (UTC)Oh, and as to the info, my mum says the deal is at "Going Places", so run to that travel agents to book and stuff, and its £139 or something for 2 nights and Eurostar ticket (unless you're travelling on Fri, Sat, or Sun, in which case you have to pay a bit more). But somehow, my mum found hotels that are doing deals like stay 2 nights and get one night free etc etc, so we got to stay 3 nights. I can scan in the hotel brochure page for you too, if you want it as well. :D
