Jul. 7th, 2005 12:41 pmA coworker said that his friend wtinessed a bus being blown apart.
Sis called, at lunch time I'm going to buy things like toothbrush and stuff in case I'm staying here tonight. I've got my laptop with me (^^") but haven't got the charger, damn. Might be able to borrow one from the office. The only problem is that I haven't got my medication with me, but hey I'll live. (must learn to take some with me wherever I go)
Sis said that where she is (in the City), they are hearing sirens ALL THE TIME and is very unsettling. Her boss has given them permission to go home if they want, but they're torn between going out in the traffic now, or staying behind. Because to be honest, they wouldn't bomb the place they've bombed again, so transport should be safe - but very congested and confused. And they may hit the buildings next. So my sister and her coworkers don't really know what to do. For now she's staying there.
Just got another reply from a friend - an out of office reply, actually. Looks like she's gone abroad. *phew*
[edit] Friend in Croydon says there was a bomb alert there. Apparently they found a bomb but it didn't go off. Still has to verify this bit of news.

And you should avoid the transport system if you can... terrorists enjoy having bombs blast anew a bit later to kill/hurt the rescuers and make more victims... The terrorist attack in Spain was geared like that but thankfully the second group of bombs did not explode.

Date: 2005-07-07 11:56 am (UTC)I think I'm selfish to be so relieved that the people I know are safe. I don't understand things like this, nor the motivations behind them.
To be honest it depends on what the intention behind the bombings is, what message they are trying to get accross as to how any future ones could be laid...
And people wonder why I don't want to have kids... the world's one fucked up place...
