May. 13th, 2005 12:02 pmI think, therefore I am.
I procrastinate, therefore I spam.
And look, it rhymes, too!
The new topic (the old one about doing/not doing thing is still going!) is, what do you not eat, and why?
- I don't eat most beans if given the choice. I prefer other veggies. It's the texture I think. I hate green peas, especially the frozen ones. But if it's served to me I'll eat it.
- I don't eat kidneys because I hate the smell. I don't eat livers because the texture makes me sick XO=
- I don't like ginger in most cases. It's nice with Chinese desserts though! (damn, now I'm hungry)
- After an "overdose" when I was around 10 or 11, I don't eat Chinese "preserved eggs"... it's okay in congee, but in other cases I go *urgh*.
- Also because of an "overdose", I had stayed away from Wine Gums for a couple of years ^^"
Will add more as I remember them. Haven't found myself allergic to any foods so far, so that's nice :)
Oh apparently there was an article on Metro on Wednesday about manga and yaoi. Missed it. *shrugs* Been reading novel whilst on the Tube. I've put "To Whom a Bell Tolls" on hold (gone through about 80 pages and it just doesn't gauge my interest) and started reading "Die Klavierspielerin" (Chinese translated). Looks good so far. I was reading Bill Bryson until Sai nicked the book from me. -_- I have lots of novels started but not finished because it got borrowed/misplaced/forgotten. But I think I'll finish this one pretty quickly, it looks good, and it's got sex in it. *snicker*

Date: 2005-05-13 12:10 pm (UTC)- Fatty meat, particularly pork. I eat it in China because I can't avoid it without becoming overly picky, but I still try to avoid the fat. Hate the texture.
- Also, brussel sprouts. Smells awful.
- 香菜/Coriander is okay in very small doses, but I loathe it when it's sour like it's usually served in China. *shudders*
- Smelly doufu. OMG awful stuff! (Yes, I realise it's just like cheese, but still. Urgh.)
- Marzipan!! It makes me gag. I never found out why, I like sugar, I like almonds, so I should like marzipan. But everytime I try it again, I have to concentrate hard on not spitting.
- Which brings me to jizz. I spit unless I have don't have the option. Once more, it's the texture. And the taste.
- Liquorice. Anything containing anise, really. Don't like the taste, never have.
- Milk chocolate. I'd rather avoid the calories than eat it. I love chocolate, but I like the cocoa aspect best, it seems - the darker a chocolate, the better. Though I do like nougat...
- Mussles. When I was 15, I worked at an aquarium and had to kill mussles alive to feed them 1-minute-dead to the pickier of the other fish. Since then, smell of mussles makes me nauseous, and if I am forced to have them in my mouth, I gag.
- I will not eat monkey, cat, rat, and assorted other weird animals that you could eat in China until very recently. I don't have to prove that I can eat those, either. I just refuse to eat them. I have eaten dog once to be able to say without lying that I tried it and do not like it, and I have since managed to talk my way out of having to eat any more.
- I have not knowingly eaten horse meat, and do not intend to. I was a little horse/cat/dog-loving girl once, after all. I never loved a chicken (and we had some, so the option was there).
Can't think of anything else.

YUCK LIQUORICE YUCK! Why does anyone put that stuff into his mouth anyway?!
..... <--- doesn't eat "exotic" meat (or insects, for that matter) although, I like rabbits but I still eat them if they're on the menu! ^^"""

Date: 2005-05-13 12:24 pm (UTC)That must be an Americanism? What do you either swallow or spit? Erm.
I have no idea. But I know a lot of people who love it.
I don't think I've ever tried rabbit. I do, however, eat African venison, Springbock, Impala, etc., but I don't like it too much, either.

Date: 2005-05-13 12:58 pm (UTC)At the moment I am reading a book on vampire myths which I found in an old bookstore near where I am currently residing. Pez is reading a German novel translated into Chinese, but unfortunately I don't understand the language at all.
Pez seems very bored. She is lowering herself onto the desk and will soon fall asleep.
[would help if I used the correct Tez journal XD]

Date: 2005-05-13 01:02 pm (UTC)And vampire books have always fascinated me, though I usually don't read the more creepy ones. Otherwise I'd be too scared in summer to leave my window open in the night. :|
[Nfu~
I was *very* amused. Why would 20_laps be reading on Vampires AND barge in on a conversation... heheh.]

Date: 2005-05-13 01:10 pm (UTC)Vampires do not hunt a lot, as far as I know. Blood of ordinary humans is not sustaining or nutritious enough to worth the effort, because of problems with corpse disposals. There are vampires who occasionally hunt ordinary humans (similar to fox hunting, for fun rather than out of need), but it is a rarer occurence than, I'd say, getting involved in an accident.
[XD you should see Echizen's reply to the Gackt!Toast post XD)
