pezI feel a little twitchy, not having written any fic (or creative writing of any sort) for 4 days. Most of the time had been spent meeting up with friends, Kingdom Hearts, and also reading "The Shadow of the Wind". It's a story set in post-war Barcelona, about a boy called Daniel who came by a book called The Shadow of the Wind, and set out to find out more about its author, Julian. The book, and all of Julian's works, were being hunted down by someone who assumed the name of the devil in Julian's novel, and as the Daniel grew up, he became entangled in the mystery that was Julian's life and death.
It's quite fascinating a story, and sadly romantic in its own way. I'm about 2/3 through the book now, and one thing I have noticed is how Daniel's life is slowly becoming like Julians... there is a strange sort of parallel/similiarity. I can't wait to read the rest of it.
At work, people are surprised that I've come in at lunch time. I only have half day off... but people thought it's a full day. Damn, I shouldn't have come in! (but then again, when they check things later, they'd find out and there'd be trouble I suppose. Ah well.)
