In case anyone hadn't gathered from my posts, I haven't been online much because of gaming and fic.
It's always fun buying games in shops (new games I get online, 2nd hand games I buy in shops). The guy at Blockbuster's went fhsdjkhfklasfa and his eyes lit up because, I guess, a female went to buy games, and on top of that, games for the XBOX 360, a "men's console", AND on top of that, huge RPGs like Lost Odyssey and the 4th - 4th! - volume of Devil May Cry. He had to know if I played the other 3, too. ("I have! The second one was kinda crap though," I said, and he flailed some more.) And was I aware LO was like Final Fantasy with a different name? ("Yeah," I said, "made by the same people behind FF, isn't it? I played a bit at a friend's place, the screen reminds me a lot of FF12.") Then he kinda went on a bit about RPGs in general. LOL.
At a different shop, I saw a group of dodgy-looking kids trading in a 60GB PS3. The shop person said they'd only get £175 for it there, they should sell it on eBay instead and they'd get a lot more money than that. The leader kid looked at the others, who all shrugged, and said nah, they'll just trade it in now. There was a long queue and I reckon everyone in the queue and the shop person all thought the same thing: the console was stolen.
On the ficcing front, it's really just doing its own thing now, so there's no guessing how long the story is going to end up. 10k? 15k? 17k? I don't know. Yagyuu continues to be hard to grasp as a character, though I think I've got his motivation down, at least.
