I'm not a happy Pez today. The main desktop at home seems to have been hacked last night. Nothing I do could let it access the internet - I could go on IM, but not webpages. In fact when I booted the machine up, explorer.exe didn't start properly. There were some unfamiliar-looking processes when I checked Task Manager and with the little time I had in the morning, I couldn't really look into it so I copied down the names and will check them out here at work. (and I think I can still get online from the other comps at home, so if I can't find any info now, I can use the laptop or something...)

There isn't anything important on the comp that people can steal, and I make sure bank details etc aren't saved in any forms (in fact, I usually only use internet banking at work because work has better net security!), but one can never be sure, what with cookies and cache and all those stuff I don't understand. It's like your house has been broken into but it seems like nothing's been stolen, but.... flsjhfkaslfhksafhls what the shit? I almost want to call in and say "my computer's been broken into, I need a day off" because don't people say that getting the comp broken into is just as bad as getting a break in at your home? And don't people get to stay home to sort things out when things happen? **

Work is driving me nuts because I'm being overloaded. That is normally a good thing (makes me work better), but these are all tasks from different schemes and I can't keep track of so many things at one time.

[edit] Finally asked my dad if he has any connection I could use for looking for work, in a "recent update" email - well, he was the one asking "How are you getting on with your attempt for a 'sabbatical' in Japan?" first! So hm. I don't really think he'd know anyone but it can't hurt to ask...

Managed to get in touch with the current tenant at my old address. He doesn't recall seeing any parcel like the one I've described T___T but he's at work and will check again when he gets home. There are several flats in that building so maybe the parcel is just sitting in the common "post" area untouched. I hope so! My Kazuki calendarrrrrr T_________T

Also called dentist, they said they'll mail me back my dental insurance form so that I can make a claim for my (second) root canal treatment. Probably won't get much for it, but even if it's £5 or 10 (of the £150 I paid), it's still money!

Trying to find info on the remaining cast is so hard. That Yuki actor's name, whichever way I look at it, is an alias or something. The Renji I found out is a model who participated in Junon Super Boys contest (same year as Aiba I believe) but I can't find a photo. And the Akaya guy - that's really his name???

You know how Windows have a pop up balloon to warn you when you're low in disk space?

If, say, I've set my comp's virtual memory to 2GB. And I download stuff over the night. Maybe, after the downloading, I've got less than 2GB space left. It's not enough for Windows to warn me of anything. But, if the comp isn't really doing anything in particular, it shouldn't be using the virtual memory, which means that it shouldn't suddenly start going weird, takes 10 minutes to boot, and stuff like that...

Because I've moved/burned a lot of files and now it seems like it's running fine =/

But I don't know how much space I had left this morning.
