I'm not the type to always put my rants under lock. The last one about RP I locked it because it was just for the RPers to read, but this one, I just want to rant. I think the person I'm talking about reads my journal every now and then - and I don't care.

Now all the new accounts get 100MB storage too. I wonder if they get those ads though. Since they upgraded my old one, all the "miracle diet patch" and "anti-cellulite cream" ads have disappeared. I sort of miss them. XD

I rock man. I really do.

After meeting supervisor (Cheeseman) and 2nd marker (Butler), I went to have lunch, then went back to the department and got chatting with other students. Cheeseman passed by and told Min and I that we did /really/ well. Good stuff. That sort of thing. So obviously we were like YES *arm-pump*.

Then at the 3pm poster session, Nethercot (head of department!!!!) saw my posters and got talking to me! And he was really impressed with my work!!! OMFG!

Got chatting with Cheeseman again, with Andy as well. He said we both did great, and we pulled through a really tough course... said loads of praises and heart-warming stuff. Said too that Butler was all compliments about the presentations we gave!

Teh me is a happy YS today. And rather incoherent right now. XD

One thing I hate seeing in fanfiction: the (excessive) use of Japanese words.

Oh sure, use "buchou", "mamushi", "ochibi". That's how they address each other. Use "saa" because that's something Fuji says a lot. Use "shi-ne" coz it's something Aya yells and everybody understands. Use it if it's word-play, such as Sengoku calling Momoshirou as "Omoshiro-kun", or whatever bad pun Dabide cracks.

But if you start using "ohayou", "doushite", "honto"... WHY?! Because they are Japanese? Then why don't you write the whole thing in Japanese? Does using the occasional Japanese word make the story better? No, most likely it doesn't make any difference, and to the newbies to fandom, having to learn all these new words just to read fanfics... it kills the story. And it doesn't make you look any smarter.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why people are (still) doing this?
