I watched ep 1-8 long long ago, but never got round to downloading the rest of it.
But I just did. And watched them all.
It's a great ending. Glad to see Krad gone, since I never liked him, both in terms of character design and personality. I don't like his clothes, his hair... some people think he's good looking. Not me. I don't like him.
Well Krad and Dark are the same thing, so I expected Dark to disappear as well, although it's kind of sad.
When reading the manga I always think that Krad would just take over Satoshi's body is Satoshi died. Probably it's the case in the manga only (or my imagination altogether), but seeing Satoshi's final decision to stop Krad by killing himself was really, really heartbreaking. He's a real sweetheart who, in the latter half of the anime, always tried to save Niwa even though it might hurt himself. I love him in the manga, and I love him in the anime too, even though the two are quite different. I almost cried for him reading the manga, and I almost cried watching the anime ending too.
I started reading the manga 4 years ago, so I'm not the type who discovered DN because it's been made into an anime. At first I was quite irked about how far away the anime strays from the manga, but after a while I see that it doesn't, not really. The animators did what was needed to make an anime, and sometimes it means shortening stories, or adding their own elements. I think they stuck to the spirit of the manga pretty well, and that is why Sugisaki Yukiru seems to be quite satisfied with the anime overall too.
Of course I hope there'll be a season 2. So far there's no news of it, and since the anime did end that way... the chance of getting a season 2 is pretty slim.
I think I'm going to re-watch the ending now.
