I know I said I was going to stick to the pattern, but to be honest I don't really like the shape of the tails, which are square-ended. Therefore I'm thinking about making it into pointy ones (think Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji), which just means trimming the fabric I've already cut out, or something like this, although it might be difficult without pattern to follow because of the folds, and I don't know if I have enough material left for the lining. Normally I'd just attempt it anyway, but because this one is a "formal" coat, I want it to be made as well as possible, that means my usual attitude of "uuuh, I suppose nobody will see this mistake here" isn't the best one to have.

General tailoring-wise I'm making a few minor alterations here and there, too, just to make it look more like a formal, proper tailcoat. I wish I had a better pattern to begin with, but they're hard to find. Should be okay, though. Without sleeves it's going to look quite weird. XD I need to adjust the shoulders because of that. I want to change the shape of the collar a bit, which shouldn't be so hard now that I know how it's constructed.

Ended [In Plain Sight] ch.7, and now know how to write the epilogue! Started it on the train this morning, in fact. Thank you, Torgal. <3

I am so jealous of the American Glay fans. The reports of the San Francisco shows make me go *_*. COME TO EUROPE, GODDAMMIT.

Yie, I need to start cracking on my costume, now I'm back. I may skip off work early and go poke at fabric shops this afternoon (and I sort of want to see if I can find any patterns which might be adaptable--I figure some sort of bolero jacket pattern might be reworkable for Rush's jacket, maybe).

I approve of pointy tailcoat tails.

Yay. \o/ For patterns, if you have access to a printer you might want to check out www.burdastyle.com which has lots of free patterns. Not sure if they have bolero jacket but it's worth a try.

Pointy they will be, then! :)

*has a peek*

Hmm, there are a couple of bolero jackets there but they're not quite what I want. I might trawl around it a bit more later, see if I can coax something better out of it. Thanks!

I could, but I can't be bothered. XD Anyway I've made some adjustment and it's turning out alright.
