Directing a written story

So I ended up buying both the Burda pattern (the one that's really for women) and the McCall pattern (the one that's star & stripes - read on the internet that lots of people actually use that for a decent tailcoat!) but not the Butterick (double-breasted) because Liz pointed out that that sort of design is actually for going to do things outdoors rather than formal occasions. The Burda one I'll just make something for myself with. XD
I also, very randomly, like this frock coat. I don't know why, but it reminds me of Firefly!Mal's coat. O_o Don't look alike, but still... somehow... O_o?
Writing more of ch.7 of [In Plain Sight]. I'll keep posting it, but after this story finishes I'm going to have a think about whether I'm going to post other stories unless it's one I'm completely ectastic about. If it's one I'm happy about, it doesn't really matter what sort of response it gets. If it's one I'm kinda okay about, by posting it I think I start to expect something, like someone telling me it's actually better than I think it is. And let's face it, my current writing doesn't excite very many people at all. *pokes at
word_games* Recently I feel very 力不從心 when trying to put my ideas into words. Things play in my head like a movie and I feel like I'm trying to write a book adaptation of it. Usually it's okay, but lately those "movies" are getting more... silent. It's depending really heavily on camera angles and cinematography to communicate things, and I find that so hard to put into words, if you see what I mean.
Heh, I say that, but bet I'll change my mind again soon. XD

Date: 2009-09-03 09:16 pm (UTC)Also, I like your writing. I think you're very good at capturing speech patterns and idiolects, and you're also good at showing emotion without telling it directly. TLR fandom is so small that you're not going to get many people reviewing to keep you confident in your writing, I guess. Mrm.
Huh, I didn't comment on your last chapter. And I liked it a lot. *goes to fix that*

Date: 2009-09-03 09:29 pm (UTC)♥;;;;;; I won't say that comments don't affect things, but I do know it's a tiny fandom and whilst comments are nice, they aren't that essential... overall I'm just not too happy with my writing recently. The stories seem more exciting - I mean I managed to convey what I wanted to say - when I was writing for Prince of Tennis. Right now the feeling just isn't quite there. =/ Or maybe I'm just having a bad few months, what with feeling ill on and off, stuff like that. XD; Makes my mood all weird...

Date: 2009-09-03 09:37 pm (UTC)And yeah, illness can make you discontented with everything. Hopefully it'll pass, if so!

(Poking around for hotels - I'm just being a bit keen XD - and it seems like there's nothing nice south of the river. orz Syl seems to want quite a nice place to stay, I think the three of us have different budgets but I don't mind and I know Syl wouldn't mind either, so it's a case of putting together the amounts we're happy to pay and seeing what place that can get us. And I do see nice places, but not quite near the venue. I guess there's no reason for a good quality hotel to be at Clapham/Wandsworth! >_>)

Date: 2009-09-03 10:44 pm (UTC)Oh, I'm willing to pay more than the figures I mentioned for taxi prices--that was just a random figure plucked out of the ether for lack of any real budget here. :P

Date: 2009-09-03 10:47 pm (UTC)^^ Gonna try to get us a good deal somewhere. If there's a good place like 10 minutes away by taxi I guess that'd be nice too? Or if we get a mid-priced place, any money we have spare we can go for a good meal... whilst in costume? XD

Date: 2009-09-03 10:56 pm (UTC)Yeah, I don't mind a short taxi ride if it'll get us somewhere nice. And a meal.. *giggles* I sense many more photo opportunities in that!

Date: 2009-09-03 10:59 pm (UTC)*imagines Emma slapping Rush's hand for not following the correct dining etiquette...*
no subject
Date: 2009-09-03 11:05 pm (UTC)Ohgod. Rush is going to spend the whole evening watching Dave for clues as to how to behave. Emma slaps hard.

Date: 2009-09-03 11:10 pm (UTC)And now I somehow see Torgal telling Rush to "save the cheerleader, save the world." O_o
Poor Rush. Maybe Dave needs to hold his hand and show him which fork to use.
.............oh dear, now I'm imagining that scene in Pretty Woman. Rush as Julia Roberts???

Date: 2009-09-03 11:18 pm (UTC)Ooooh, Heroes/TLR crossover. Hiro would have waaaay too much fun if he ended up in TLR.
..how has this conversation wound up with Rush in girl's clothing again?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-03 11:21 pm (UTC)Rush might get pissed off that there's someone better at manipulating time than him!
Hm. Those frilly dresses Torgal was making Allan wear? Most likely also came from Rush's closet.

Date: 2009-09-03 11:25 pm (UTC):D Freezing time, general goofiness, /and/ being decent with blades? Hiro /is/ Rush!
Rush's closet must be fairly capacious at this point. I hope Dave paid for the remodelling so all these pretty clothes have somewhere to live.

Date: 2009-09-03 11:34 pm (UTC)David: *likes it that Rush's closet is empty. This means Rush has to stay naked* If you really need something to wear, I can lend you my eyepatch.

Date: 2009-09-04 02:12 am (UTC)Rush: But, but.. I can't go out hunting for butterfly livers in just the eyepatch...

Date: 2009-09-04 07:55 am (UTC)Dave: With it you can summon the Gae Bolg. (naked + Gae Bolg = hot!)
no subject
Date: 2009-09-04 10:57 am (UTC)Rush: Naked Gae Bolg? I think there needs to be a demonstration of this.

Date: 2009-09-04 01:50 pm (UTC)...oh wait, that's Crying Freeman. >_>

Date: 2009-09-04 08:34 am (UTC)Saying hello
Date: 2009-09-04 08:30 am (UTC)The image of an extremely embarrased Rush standing naked in front of the Gae Bolg, makes me go OMG O_O, and then makes me think of David collapsing because of all the blood loss that massive nose bleed would cause. rofl
Re: Saying hello
Date: 2009-09-04 08:43 am (UTC)Yeah it might be a bit too much for David to handle... I guess he could lend Rush another flag to cover up his backside. XD
