You know, this is irrelevant and so random but, while reading the word Gattaca in your journal, my brain made out of the usual crazy, planted this idea in my head. What if... Rush was never that innocent and unawares, what is he knew exactly what he was and what his role was but due to a strange survival instinct dubbed with a need to belong, he subconsciously blocked all that info, then, even as it was starting to surface and he became more and more aware, he was faking ignorance until the info was apparent to everybody so there was no need to fake his innocence.

Sorry it's probably silly but, its in my nature I guess to refuse to believe anybody is that ignorant, besides, psycho Rush seems more hawt to me... imagine the implications of his mental disorder and the way he is coping with his fucked up psychological state while playing this innocent easy going dude while sitting on a closet stuffed with skeletrons.

I stfu now and go fantasize about a Rush who is more fucked up inside then David or anybody could ever begin to comprehend.

P.S. There's a fun idiom in my country that would roughly translate as "Grooming your gnomes" that means minding your sanity.

"I need to groom my gnomes while talking to Jane" - "I need to mind my sanity (preserve my sanity) while talking to Jane" XD

I'm... sort of writing something along those lines, actually. XD Not sure how it'll turn out, it's not psycho Rush though, just a little fucked-up-ness. The idea of psycho Rush is really tempting... need to give it a go at some point...

I look forward to reading that! I always found Rush a bit two dimensional since he is so happy go lucky thick skinned and virtually unawares to the point where it should be classed as an illness. It might be because he sometimes feels like a generic high school sitcom character... wish he had a little bit of crazy just so he doesn;t feel so fake.

Psycho Rush is because I just take everything to extreme, but it does sound rather hot, having Rush be evil and psychotic does add a whole new layer of meaning, understanding and crazy to tlr. XD

What if he didn't really sacrifice himself cause he's a hero, but instead he is just a bad ass punk victimizing poor Conqueror who was so kind he even went and did lazy Rush job then when Conqui was finally about to finish what Rush was suppose to do, Rush decides to jump in and "help humanity" by dooming his own race but at the same time doing the one thing that would save his skin and keep the puny humans around for another century of entertainment for Rush-sama. Did I mention that my brain tends to work on a different wavelength then it normally should? Guess it's unnecessary to state such obvious thing considering my previous demonstration. *crawls back under her rock to plot more evil*

I wouldn't say he's totally ignorant and happy go lucky. I reckon he already knew about what he was quite early in the game (suspicions raised when he first went to Sacred Lands and had flash back, and then later on when Irina joked that Remnants might look like mitras), but he kept it all to himself until the end anyway. And when Athlum was reluctant to go to war because of what the God Emperor said, Rush knew it was his job to finish things rather than land Dave in trouble.

Also, remember that after going to the mines to see his mum, he goes back to Athlum and when Dave asked him what he found out, Rush only asked Dave to promise that Dave won't get Irina and his mum involved, but didn't disclose anything else. Dave promised him, and then asked, "that's all you have to say?" and Rush said "yeah." Dave let the matter drop, walked away, leaving Rush standing in the garden looking thoughtful.

In comparison, I think Rush is a lot smarter and hides much more than the average RPG character. >>

You have no idea. I'm fully appreciative of the psychoness. If you'd seen the stuff I've written for other fandoms, you'd see. XDDD
