Many, many years ago, when my college was still known as the Imperial Institute, there's a great big tower in the middle of the institute called the Colcutt Tower. Later, they decided to demolish the institute, but keep the tower, which later bcame known as the Queen's Tower. It still stands in the middle of the college grounds today as the unofficial college mascot.

My task:
Write a report on the following:
1. Can the foundations of the Colcutt Tower support the tower after demolition of the Imperial Institute? If not, produce a pile design that will provide the necessary stability.
2. Will the tower move (settle or heave) as a result of the conversion? If so, by how much?

Umm... I'm starting to see why a lot of people don't want to study civil engineering. *sigh*
