David asked Rush if he'd go with him to some place. Said he wanted to ask Rush before the others were back and there was a meeting quite overdue that he had to go to. Then he took Rush to Fornstrand (the place with the pretty rock and water). He told Rush that four years ago (when he was 15, his father already dead) this used to be his hiding place. Back then, he hated being born a Nassau, because his life was set and Athlum was always under Celapaleis's control. So he used to hide here, where he met a girl whose also used to hide here. They became friends despite her knowing who he was. She said he would run Athlum well.

One day, Athlum was attacked by monsters. If he could've used to Gae Bolg without Celapaleis's permission, he could have ended the attack much sooner and nobody would've died. But he had to worry about the treaty first, so there were some deaths, the girl being one of them. And he hated himself even more for being the Marquis but unable to save even one girl. He promised himself then that once he's grown into someone fit to run Athlum, he'd come back here. Then he said (to empty space), "I've come here to tell you, thank you, and..." *fade to black*

Closure, yo? And taking Rush to see his past/dead girlfriend, yo?

OH. This was after the Duke of Qubine (little!ugly!Renji) went to David and told him,

"Dude, go see the God Emperor. The Conqueror got his powers from him, we must find out what the God Emperor is thinking." (God Emperor = more powerful than Congress)

And Dave went, "but! A man of my meager stature wouldn't be able to gain an audience with the God Emperor!"

Ugly!Renji went, "you mean the acting Chairman of the Congress can't talk to the God Emperor, dude?"

Dave went, "fjeskhfklsfs SINCE WHEN WAS I THE ACTING CHAIRMAN?!"

Ugly!Renji smirked. "Duke of Ghor (who was Chairman, got totally pwned by Conqueror and is now in bed resting) and I decided. You've earned this with your many accomplishments. Now go see the God Emperor."

(Duke Ghor got pwned, Athlum went to help, beatededed Conqueror's army but David and Rush got personally beatededed up by Conqueror. Both were crushed to the ground, a few feet away from each other. Conquerer then went forward to smash Rush's head. Dave couldn't move and just went, "Rush...!!!!!!" But of course they didn't die. Irina managed to save the day.)

Anyway, back to Dave and ugly!Renji. After that announcement, Dave, still fjsdhfkslafhas-ing, said, ".......................... O_O Uh. Me, Chairman? Okay?"

Then Ugly!Renji turned to go, but suddenly stopped as if he remembered something. "Oh, David, From now on, you no longer need my permission to use the Gay Bolt."

Dave, already speechless at this point, went "..............you mean........?"

Ugly!Renji almost lol-ed at him. "Slow today, aren't you? I mean from now on Athlum is an independent state. Don't be too happy just yet, making your own decisions is a difficult thing."

At which point the room erupted. Qubine left. Dave stood there, tilted his head back, eyes closed, savoured the moment. Then announced they were going to see the God Emperor.

And so they went, and found out that the Conqueror is a Remnant and the GE as well as Wagram are on the Conqueror's side. Because Remnant were supposed to be respected and worshipped, not used by men. GE told Dave to tell the Congress that from now on, nobody's to get in Conqueror's way at whatever cost, or it'll be considered treason.

Everyone: What the fuck???? You mean even if the Conqueror is gonna kill everyone and take over the world?

GE & Wagram: Yup! 8D 8D

They went back home. Later, Conqueror prepared army to go to Elysion. None of the Lords were doing anything because they're afraid of the treason thing. David wished he could do something. Then Rush said to him, "hey, dude, look, I'm not originally from Athlum, I can go sort that guy out. I've got the tablet and talisman, if I play my cards right I'll be fine!" and went to set off. Then David thought about it, stopped Rush and said what a fool he was to just sit here and worry about it. If Conqueror does destroy the world and kill everybody then who cares about treason? He thanked Rush for opening his eyes, told his generals that they're gonna march and stop that army, if they don't want to, they're to leave now. Of course nobody left.

David told Rush that when they first met, he noticed Rush had a special power (talisman) and thought if he kept Rush close, he could control him and use that power for Athlum's sake. But he was wrong and Rush was the one in control, really. Torgal said Rush helped David grow in ways the generals couldn't, and asked Rush to continue to stay by David's side. XDDDDDDDD

And those are the important points of the story so far. There was also a scene where Dave was in the garden, apparently by himself, and Irina went to talk to him for a bit, congratulated him on Athlum's independence, all cutesy and stuff, before leaving. After she left, David went back to just looking at the garden, and then camera pans to show Rush hiding behind a pillar, sighing to himself.

at this point there were hardly any decent cut scenes, but I read your comments!! is there really more david/rush?!?!? *__* that DAVID/IRINA scene that made rush *sigh* is aggggh >< and did I misread or you wrote something about a head on a shoulder *.*?

fdsjfhsdjkf *missed your comment somehow* I'm at work now and can't look at youtube, so will get back to you on that one. But Split Damir (http://uk.youtube.com/SplitDamir) has a lot of clips up, including the bit where David goes to Fornstrand to talk about his past. It's a quest, not the main storyline. The quest is called "The Distant Promise" so maybe you'll find it searching with those words. There aren't cut scenes though, just David talking about stuff.

There aren't that many cutscenes on Disc Two (which begins after the Conqueror vs Emma fight). I can try to find the David and Irina scene when I get home tonight to show you.

And don't worry about the head on shoulder thing, it was just a joke. XD

and god, I finished ~~watching~~the game yesterday, whatever feelings you have for david/rush, they'd increase with no limitations!
um suffering here, there's nothing online for RL fans :( only two fics (on the community) and a few japanese fanart sites. I tried finding any threads on forums that would actually discuss the story/ending but there weren't any, ppl only ranted about the battle system.
and I made a poor attempt of pimping this game by creating a thread about it on aarinfantasy x3

ps: I saw that rush-being-pillar scene.... omg this pair is so canon!<333
the funny thing is that they made it into a way where a non-yaoi fan would go like "huh? is he upset about his sis growing up..? whatever." x)

pss: those two are my new official OTP, I love them too much it's aint funny anymore :(
