Argh. Things happened this morning. The end results are: my back is in pain and I got to work late.

I just started rereading The Shadow of the Wind. It's been a few years and I've forgotten it all already. All I remember is that it's good. It's amazing, in fact. But if you're looking for reviews and crits, you're better off reading the blurbs (it's got plenty) and reviews online. I wish more of his novels get translated into English. "El Juego del Angel" will be released as "The Angel's Game" but won't be until mid-2009.

Unni, I'm working on my wish list. Where's yours? >D

Today, this thought came to me: if people could put up with other people liking "The Da Vinci Code", they could deal with the current "Twilight" craze, or any other "unjustified" (pov depending) crazes. Mocking is fun but if you're actually going to complain, go and do something else. You might think the author doesn't deserve the fame and wealth - and you might be right - but there are lots of other injustices in the world that's far more important. People liking crap novels and crap authors becoming celebrities is really not worth being angry about. Stress and anger is not good for health, you know, so why pile it on unnecessarily?

Also, since "The Da Vinci Code" is, to quote Stephen Fry since I agree with him, arse gravy of the worst kind, but still so celebrated, one must remember that if your own fics are well-loved, it doesn't necessarily mean you're good at writing.

Sad, but I think it's true.

Because even just sitting down is bringing me pain, I'm not in a great mood today. If you talk to me, be prepared that my words probably aren't very polished or rounded.

I don't know about that one, since the English version isn't out yet, but yeah, The Shadow of the Wind was really really good. :D

Sorry, that was the idea. I was out of bed and it takes a while to think properly. XD;;;
Probably The shadow of the wind is around somewhere.
But I'm terribly cheap with books. >.>;;
