I opened my email and read this:
"Is now a good time to arrange to schedule an agreeable date for a meeting update?" - Wow. I have no words.
Liz and I have moved! Interesting things happened, including:
- Being locked inside the house and not being able to get out. Had to call the landlord for help. While we were waiting, there was a policeman knocking on all the doors in the neighbourhood asking for information on stuff. I had to talk to him through the front window. XD
- Mad panic when removals arrived an hour earlier than expected.
- Swedish flat-pack furniture hell aka IKEA plus lots of putting together furniture (IT'S LIKE GIANT LEGO \o/). We didn't get anything from the UNNI range as the designs are a bit too colourful for our tastes. But Liz did get to stand on an UNNI!
- Estate agent of the old place not turning up to collect the keys.
- Using the mobile to go on Yellow Pages to find food delivery because we were both too exhausted to go out for food.
Etc, etc. But we're in! Tezmobile is also settling in well with the help of a Feliway diffuser. Internet will be up and running in a week's time.
There are still a million things I need to do, on top of catching up with work. And I think I've caught a cold. So. Yeah. Won't be online-active for a while yet.
(Oh, yeah. Didn't get to see any of the US Open matches, but gutted about Rafa, and happy for Roger. :D)

Date: 2008-09-09 11:36 am (UTC)At least you're in!
I won't touch any flatpack furniture which requires more than an Allen screw for assembly. My one Ikea experience was a bad one.
I was pleased for Murray (hooray for Scottish ancestry!) and ambivalent about Roger.

Date: 2008-09-09 12:33 pm (UTC)We are! Neither of us has a wardrobe yet (couldn't get it at Ikea) but hopefully everything else can be built/stored/displayed within the next few days.
I really don't mind building furniture, as long as I have all the bits and tools necesary. It does help that my ex left his electric screwdriver set with me...
I don't know much about Murray these days, really, but the initial impression from 2 or 3 years ago weren't good at all - he didn't seem to have any sportsmanship to me, back then. Roger had totally stolen my heart since our visit to Wimbledon 2 years ago and he waved at us when we were going down some steps and he appeared on the walkway with the glass wall nearby! And his reaction during his win at the Olympics doubles made me go awwwwwwww. Hopefully he'll rebound to world no.1 soon, or at least regain that great rivalry with Nadal!

Date: 2008-09-09 12:41 pm (UTC)Murray reminds me of my brother, but with more social skills! I admire his drive and self-honesty but standing next to Nadal and Federer he just looks like a different breed of human. Was saying to Bast recently that I could easily imagine him in a kilt and woad (waving an axe as he charged down from the highlands to slaughter the English).
