I did not spend my whole Saturday working on 40.5, thank God. But it did take away a chunk of the night.

Last night [livejournal.com profile] giving_ground and I went to Oval for drinks with [livejournal.com profile] dystopiarcadia because it was her birthday. Dean the Bike has received new funky lamps. Today us three went to watch Sweeney Todd and then had dinner at Frankie & Benny's. Um, there was something mildly amusing about eating a full rack of BBQ ribs after watching Sweeney Todd.

Sweeney Todd was... good. I didn't like the songs much; usually I come out of a musical humming one or two of the songs, but this didn't happen today. The lyrics felt more like spoken dialogue that were sung, rather than made into song, if you know what I mean. But mostly it was the lacky of a catchy tune, I suppose. But not every musical writer could be like Tim Rice...

Acting-wise, Johnny was very good, but I don't think it was Oscar performance. Helena Bonham Carter was a bit weird in the beginning when she was first introduced, but as the film progressed it seemed like she warmed up to her role - which is strange because of course they don't shoot scenes in sequence, so it must be me warming up to her as time went on.

I'm still trying to find a suitable table for my flat. Preferably a coffee table-like, low one. We used to have one at home where the legs can be folded underneath. One of those would be really brilliant.

Here's a wish list for anyone wanting to get me things:

- butter dish (and nice plates and such)
- table
- spice rack
- a very good bottle opener

Huh I don't know why I'm still up. Should go to bed.

Filled with horrible, awful procrastination, a stress related small system shut-down, not much sleep and lots of Top Gear watching, which in my gigantic stupidity I couldn't actually really enjoy because I knew I should be studying instead. I got extremely lucky in today's exam, though. =)

Ah.... :D;;;; but hey, sounds like you got through the exam! Now you can focus on your next one. You know what Tezuka would say in this situation...

Indeed, and for once, I'll follow his advice. Cannot afford to fail that one. :(( Which I suppose is my cue to go to bed. >_>

I loved Sweeney Todd visually (yet another Count of Monte Cristo influenced/inspired by tale) but I'm right there with you when you mention that the songs aren't that catchy.

But it's still a gorgeous visual experience and I'll probably be getting the DVD.

What kind of plates do you need? I know a certain goddess whose bday is coming up. :P

Yeah, it was fun to watch. ^^

Hahahaha, well, I've been using plastic ones and want heavy, breakable ones now, which are not good in the post! XD Don't worry about it! ♥;;;

Yea I kind of felt that way about the Sweeney Todd too. After watching the it, it felt as if it were missing something. Might've been the ending, but overall if wasn't... complete? (Does that even make sense?) I still loved the movie though. XD

Yeah. I suppose if the ending is the way it's written there isn't much the director could do about it, but...

Singing Johnny Depp! What's not to love? XD
