[livejournal.com profile] tenipuri_fusion is different from most RPs that you actually have to follow the anime. We announce time periods, which parts of the anime will be covered in each period, and RPers need to follow that. It is probably more for those who likes to do character building and relationships slowly.

It's more restrictive than most RPs. Gah, you can't just start an orgy, of course. But it does have its merits.

I don't mind if you're involved in other RPs as well. I also don't mind when someone doesn't like the format and decides to pull out, because if you aren't having fun, then there's no point. Hell, you don't need to give a reason to pull out. But don't fucking lie to me with your eyes open and say you don't have the bloody time for RP coz of school/work/life when you've signed up to other RPs too recently. I'm not stupid, I'm not blind, contrary to what you believe.

I saw several comms that say "under-18s can't join, only members can post, and everyone are welcomed to watch. If you're under 18 then don't let us find out". Puzzles me to no end. Reasons?

Mods check new member's personal LJs to find age. They don't just read the info, they troll through entries to see if new member is a minor. Not that this is illegal or anything, online journals are public, but it's just... gah.

If I'm under 18, then don't let you find out? So if you didn't find out, does that relieve you of legal responsibilities? No, duh. And of course anyone can watch the comm, you can't prevent a comm from being f-listed, but you don't ask your members to lock their NC-17 posts. Which means you're providing a place for minors to read adult material anyway. The only thing "under-18s can't join, member-posting only" accomplishes is that under-18s can't post adult material. That doesn't really change anything.

Hello, am I missing something here? Or are those mods missing the point?

So you mean, having a minor join an adult list is illegal (but mods can protect themselves by putting in a disclaimer), but providing a place that can be freely accessed by minors is not illegal? Coz I don't know the law.

And what I said about "if you are a minor, don't tell us" still... I understand they want to protect the comm's interests, but that line's like encouraging minors to join and lie about their age. (which is fine but... I just don't like it when people encourage other people to lie)

In some comms they word it "don't let us find out" (as in my original post). If they're already protected by the disclaimer, why would the mods want to troll through personal LJs of every new member to work out if they're 18 yet? They kick members they suspect to be under-18, even when they haven't said a thing on the comm. I mean, I do salute the mods for having the patience to do this... but I don't see the point.

Since I don't mod lists 18+; I've not had to face this problem and I don't know (nor do I care, honestly) about all the reasoning behind their wordings.

One thing I can tell you, if a mod stalk the members she suspects of being under 18+, believe me, she probably has a reason or no life ^_~
