  1. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] giving_ground for lending me a certain book! I was only some 20-pages in and I already have ideas for my [livejournal.com profile] their_white_day contribution. And then on the way to work this morning I thought more about it and it's really taking shape.

  2. I think someone has been pimping [The City] recently! ** I'm starting to get comments for it again. That's really special, since the story was finished a year ago. But it still hasn't surpassed the response I got for [Trials of Trust] XD. But ToT was... special in its own way............ ahem.......... *shifty eyes* Anyway, [The City] probably attracted a smaller reader base to start with. I know it's Rikkai, but you just can't compare that with ZukaFuji in terms of the number of shippers out there. That said, to be honest, [The City] is a much more "exhausting" read and anyone who takes the time to comment after finishing it deserves a gold star.

** I'd really love to see how people pimp fics. I mean, what kind of a summary would they write? And I'd love to know how to recommend the fics I like to other people and make it sound attractive enough for them to want to click on the link. So, what do you look for in a good rec? I mostly just click on whatever link I see on my list, as long as it's from someone I know to share similar tastes, so I don't really look for a summary or anything...

I know, I know, I keep talking about this damned story even after so long, but I like it, so...

  3. Fill in the blanks!

If Tezuka Kunimitsu was an animal, he would be a _______________, because _____________________.

I know there's a fox plushie of him, but, what other animal could he be?

I don't care that you keep talking about it. It was a great story. I uh... can't really think of a piece of fanfic I've read which I would recommend more highly (there's... one other piece I consider more or less on a par in terms of awesome, and it's Saiyuki fic). You're allowed.

And I know what you mean about pimping fics! Sometimes people tell me they found my fic through a rec and I really wonder what people are saying! XD I'm just nosy, I guess.

Summarising my own fic is challenging enough, let alone other people's. XDD

♥!!!!!!

Sometimes I try to look at their friends list and see if there's anyone I know, but a lot of the time there are no names I recognise. It's just especially strange, now that it's already been 1 year and 8 days since the story has finished and I still get comments!

OH YES. Sometimes I just want to give up writing summaries altogether. =_="

The book is uber useful *_____* *wants to go home to write, now!*

I know I've seen The City recced in several pretty random places outside of LJ. (Where I don't remember, but I don't think I actually found it through LJ in the first place, now that I think about it.)

It's especially difficult with long fics, but as can be seen, I struggle even for short ones. "Uh... stuff happens?" is not terribly helpful, but I hate giving too much detail as well. XD;

"In which everyone is fucked up" is usually an accurate summary for the sort of fics we write, isn't it? XD

..............yes. XD At least the AU-fic. Because, um, crazy AUs are fun?

One day I'd love to write a story that is "in which everyone gets fucked" instead......................

XD!!! Is Niou-hedgehog trying to influence your writing again?

*sigh* I don't blame him. He isn't happy with the lack of smut in your cyberpunk story, not happy with The City and generally... just not happy with all the UST. Such is the life of a hedgehog.

...I've written stuff where Niou gets laid, so he can stop bitching at me, damn it. XDDDD Some of the AU stuff, even. If he didn't like it then he can go write his own. :D

Oh wait, he did, didn't he...

Yeah, but he never gets enough of it, that's the problem!

Oh yes. *nod*

Yes. Well. He should just be glad Terry Pratchett was apparently wrong about hedgehogs, is all I can say.

Ah, but I suspect his reponse to that would be "the hedgehog of course doesn't get buggered, no. He buggers." (......)

...there is that.

Niou-hedgehog, you're so special.

...also, on an entirely unrelated note, someone asked me for a fic-snipped with a prompt which included the word 'walrus'. And I wrote it, because I'm being avoidant about work. Kill me now. Please. (My consolation is that, given the end product, they are probably confused and/or regretting asking.)

...you know, Brian's comatose state is probably none of my fault, afterall.

I think you have partial blame. But yeah, there are many factors at work here. -_-

I blame the walrus. Brian was stampeded by a herd of walruses.
