[edit] Ok, now it's definitely sold out. The worst bit is, my sister definitely saw the button for buying it, £179.99, clicked on it and the buying option is gone again. I'm not pleased with Amazon. How I managed to now see the BUY button even though I kept pressing REFRESH for the last 45 minutes, I do not know. Really should have preordered, but back then I wasn't wanting to buy it. =/

What they did was put them out one at a time on Marketplace at staggered intervals. It was completely pot luck as to whether you got a refresh that got the one proper seller before it went. I saw it once, the first time they did it, but got confused for a moment because it was Marketplace and different to how it had been last time, dithered for five seconds, twigged, but then of course it was gone. :(

There were official 'this is Amazon selling it on Marketplace' at RRP ones, but they were only put out one at a time, and for most people, they will never have seen them because they disappeared too quickly. I was monitoring the Eurogamer forums at the time, and some people got one, while lots of others didn't. :( There are of course bastard scalpers on there who are trying to take advantage of people as well. Grr.

i preordered mine 2 months ago
got it this mean after getting up at 6am and queuing from 7am onwards... the whole 3 of us standing outside debenhams XD the guy was like disappointing everyone who wlaked in hoping to get a wii. before they ould even finish the sentence! XD so gald i preordered O___O

I could have preordered but I didn't, because when it was available for preordering I didn't want one. GAH. Was hoping today that where I work, being a very small town, would have one or two consoles and nobody'd fight for it (all we have here are single mothers and old people), but in fact they don't even have one to start with!
