I'm so tempted to get a PS3 - even though there are no games on it I want to play, yet. I just want it for the sheer shinyness.

OTZ

Not being a fan of sports/driving games, I always wonder why every time a new console comes out, the first games that are available are always those types. Perhaps they have a large fan base? Or they are just easier to make? For a new console, there's always something Tony Hawk (skateboarding I believe), a driving game and a Tiger Woods (golf) game. And a game with war background. And NBA basketball. Beh. I don't like that sort of stuff. I want my RPGs!

Interesting, there is going to be a game called Ni-Oh. *is amused*

I should not buy a PS3. There are no good games on it yet.

But... THE SHINY. T_T

Sports and driving games are ridiculously popular. They cater to both casual gamers and the lowest common denominator, so they're instant cash for developers. EA's Fifa soccer games often end up as the best-selling game of the year here. :/

Ni-oh. Which has a blond hero. It is destiny!!

... >_> I think they publish the racing games first because they make for ethe best try-outs in stores - you can actually finish something, get a good feel for how sensitive the machine is, etc. *shrugs*
