Orajel numbs me for only around... 15 minutes at most? It isn't actually unbearable, just incredibly annoying and bad-mood-inducing. I wonder. If I call the dentist tomorrow and ask to get it seen to under NHS, how long a wait would I have to put up with? I heard that "dental emergencies" don't exist on NHS? A lot of that tooth is out already, actually. It grows on a slightly outwards angle. It's now longer than the rest of my molars because the lower one isn't coming out properly (it's very angled) and there's nothing for it to chew against. Eventually it'll chew on my lower gum and it must be taken out? Beh. But I'm guessing.

Why? After so many centuries of evolution, why do humans still get third molars? =_="" Can't we just evolve our way to eliminate things like wisdom teeth and appendices?

Hana, actually, nevermind. I'm gonna go shower and then see if I want to stay on the comp to screencap/icon or if I want to go to bed. But poke if you still see me on MSN/AIM? <3

There is always an emergency dentist - once my dad had to have a filling on Christmas Day, which was fun. To be honest, I am confused about which dentists are NHS and which are private (do you have to pay at all for NHS ones? Like prescriptions?), but when I was really worried about mine I just rang up my usual dentist (who I do pay) and made an appointment and they saw me within a couple of days. Otherwise, if you look in the phone book an emergency out-of-hours number should be listed, like the emergency GP.

Good luck with your teeth, anyway - it's true, there is no pain more annoying and mind-occupying than tooth pain. -_-

I think I'm going to call the dentist tomorrow and see if I should make a visit... this is giving me a lot of grief -_- I'll just miss work if I have to. Can't actually operate if this keeps going...

There are emergency dentists but not necessarily on the NHS - a lot of people here go to the dental hospital if it's urgent and they can't afford a dentist. There's a queuing system and you're treated by students under supervision. Not sure if Eastman's dental hospital in London does the same thing but it might be worth asking.

I only have two wisdom teeth and my dentist informed me this was not so unusual these days and meant I was more highly evolved!
