It's bad. After typing out the list of things I want/need to write, I've realised I've developed a strange love for AUs. That includes [Skin Deep], of course, but I don't feel like writing FujiZuka right now. I want to do another AU with a random selection of characters, a bit like I did with [The City].

But oh, the 28-chapter monstrosity with multiple twists and turns. No, not again.

Just... meh. Had a D1 story in mind too, but it's not AU and I suddenly don't feel like writing it anymore. *frowns* I hate it when that happens.

For most fandoms, I really don't like AUs at all... for PoT thought, I have a definite addiction to them (who would have guessed...? heh). Pretty much because the characters are what I enjoy about it, and the setting I can really take or leave.

At the same time, I must demand more D1 fic, AU or not... ;)

Or maybe you could cross that line and write an original fiction instead of an AU.

I could, but setting up my own chars are so difficult :( Had been writing an original story but I didn't like the scale of it, it was too large for me to handle comfortably (ie. too ambitious). I had half a mind to edit [The City], changing the character names and adding a bit of character description and then give it to non-PoT people (even RL friends *gasp*) and see what they'd think...

The good thing about AU is, you could take a bunch of characters from all the schools and sprinkle them into the story. Non-AU makes it harder to do that and then things can gets formulaic.

I don't know if editing The City would work so well, because it still relies quite a lot on what we know of the characters desu, and adding descriptions would break the pace or something, but the next one I think you can definitely handle without that safety net.

Plus that means I don't have to struggle for a year before I read it. >_>
