The rest of what I said in IM:

it seems that Shirota belonged to TakaEiji's organisation. And at some point they met and they were talking and then pointing guns at each other and Shirota basically knew he wasn't going to live. (it's all very John Woo if you ask me)

and then Shirota says that TakaEiji's weakness is that he's too kind, and he releases the safety and as expected, TakaEiji shoots him dead right away. So he just kinda threw his life away.

General consensus is that screencaps, bromides, magazines shoots and commercial pictures like that ar fair game. The only ones we avoid using is ones taken from personal blogs, but Shirota never posts pics in his anyway. :3
