The thing about cosplay is, it's easier for girls to cosplay as male characters than the other way around, because 1) it's usual for girls to wear trousers, 2) most anime boys are pretty as girls and so very slim, 3) anime girls are far too girlish for guys to cosplay unless they do it for humour.
I'm looking at YJA and there is GSD cosplay clothing for sale everywhere. But I want to make one myself. Not because there's a cosplay event coming up, but it's just so pretty and making clothes is much fun! But here comes the question, should I make a male ZAFT uniform, or a female one?
[Poll #612029]
For ref:
Male uniform (1, 2)
Female uniform (1, 2)
Athrun's GSD outfit (1, 2 - I'd make it out of a different material though, need something heavier and shinier than that!)
Female cosplay would require wig. Athrun (ZAFT or GSD outfit) would not. I have short blue hair 8D And I'm probably no good posing in a girly way. XD But still. The girl uniform is pretty too. The good thing about the 3rd option is, I can wear the jacket afterwards, if I make it nice enough.
And? I'm so making myself Athrun and Mwu icons!
[edit] Any good books/sites for clothes-making? I know I can get paper patterns and I've done that for my Ed cosplay, but for that one it's just a single layer of thin cloth, it's not really a proper jacket which is well-shaped, with lining etc. So erm, any advice please?
