Throwing away my old speakers (used to connect PC to mini-hifi, then those red and black wires thing go to speakers, but the hifi is broken and has no use apart from this, and it takes up too much space to justify its only use) Any recommendations for proper computer speakers? I don't need any special surround sound or woofers. I mean, the sound can only be as good as the sound card in the end, and though my sound card is good, it isn't amazing.

So, yeah, recs? :D (or if you're using one of these ones, are they any good?)

I have some of these at work and I've had Altec Lansing speakers at home (2.1 system) for years - always found them v. reliable and an excellent sound. Would recommend.
