Stuck at systems part II. ~_~

Wanna ask something. I've got a FujiZuka fic (or maybe ZukaFuji eventually), but it doesn't really matter what the characters are. Just say there's a story.

When you read a story, do you prefer happily-ever-after, break-up, or complete-utter-madness? (madness as in... real madness. Think Farfarello. Not everyone-turns-chibi or oh-it's-just-a-dream.) Why?

And do you avoid death fics? What other kinds of fics (beside MS, mpreg, general bad fics etc) would you not touch with a 10-ft pole?

(please, I need as much response on this as possible...)

[edit: oh, how about me? Well I generally avoid fairy-tale fics, and also parodies. Dunno why, I just don't read them. I also don't like song-fics much. And RP-style fics with just dialogues too. ^^"]

Augh... I think I tend to prefer happily-at-least-for-the-moment kind of things, though when I read, I might read just about anything. With a few exceptions, for which see below... Break-up is okay if well written, utter madness doesn't really appeal to me.

I guess I like these happily-etcetera stories because I know that there's no such thing as 'ever after' - nope, no matter how hard time the guys have had while trying to get together, that's when the real work begins! But *sigh* that's where the story usually ends, though.

I don't particularly like death fics but I don't actively avoid them either - have read a few good ones. But the ones that I won't touch even with a 25-foot pole include my number one pet hate - mpreg... *groan* Oh, and naturally anything with a summary of the type "i suxs at sumeries heehee okay jsut r/r pleeeeaze i will update when i get at least 5 review's!!!!!!!!!"

Shit, I just about hurt physically when writing the above monstrosity... *shudder*

^^ Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I like both happily-ever-after and break-ups (although it breaks my heart)... would like to read mad fics, although I have yet to see a good one ^^" It's difficult for sane people to write madness I guess *L*

Oh my eyes x_x It hurts enough to read, that sentence! It reminds me why I don't frequent ff.net anymore. *sigh* I still remember the good old days when ff.net was a nice place...

Should've written in my post: "i sux but pleeze reply i want at least 5 comennts!!!!11!!" XD

I don't read fanfiction that much anymore, so I'm not sure how much I can help here... What I read (and if I read) at the moment depends on my mood, yet overall I think I'll read almost anything as long as it's written well. Everyone's opinion varies on what 'well' is, so that's not too helpful...

Hmm...my two major annoyances when it comes to fics are OOC-ness and plots that were once good and original, but have been written so many times that the only thing new about them is the author. Now if it's intended to be OOC (as in, it's a silly comedy-- i.e. Inui makes a drink that turns everyone into genki-smiling chibiz) then I'll let it slide. If it's a story with the same overly-repetitive plot, but it has new big shiny stuff that wasn't in the other stories (i.e. Inui makes a drink that turns everyone into genki-smiling chibiz, but [insert something new and never before seen here]) then I might be able to forgive the author for using 'typical plot'. I probably sound like a hypocrite here because I can't always live up to the same expectations that I have for other authors (which is why I don't consider myself to be a great author at all cause I'm no better than the 'bad authors that should be avoided') but I do really admire authors who can write what I consider to be 'the good stuff'.

And this probably wasn't helpful at all ^^; It sounds more like I'm ranting. Sorry~

Oh, but I know what you mean! It's like me saying I hate fics with bad spelling and grammar, when my own spelling and grammar are all over the place as well.

I agree with the "written well" part as well. And I'm too scared to read new fics from authors I don't know, unless somebody rec it to me. Just in case it's bad and it poisons my eyes. ^^" And then it depends on who recs it, because some people... well let's just say they don't share the same tastes as me... ^^"

Now I must decide what to write... I've done more happy fics than the other types, and I want to give other things a try... although I'm not feeling really confident. ~_~ *sigh* The dilemma...
