Because people are stupid anyway, we should give them a reason to be stupid.

What crack is [livejournal.com profile] shatteredshards on? LJ is not able to control what it's users put in their journals, but there is something called social responsibility. Should I call this stupidity or arrogance? Since bbc.co.uk is closely watching the blog/journal culture, perhaps I can send them an email and see what they think about this... >_>

I'm trying not to get wound up about it. Just going to speak to schools advisors when I get back to the office and see what they think. And I'm going to be working on a child internet safety guidelines over the next few months anyway so at least LJ have made sure I won't forget them!

The sad thing though is that LJ gimmick is far more likely to catch kids' imagination than any form of official advice. And they've actually made me think of microsoft as the good guys!

It's one thing to want to support a new feature that LJ has just started but if there are saftery concerns you would think they would have a better response than this:
I don't see how this endangers their safety any more than it may already be endangered by their own actions.
