When you try to get in, they will ask for proof of age. They will only accept driving license or passport as proof. It doesn't matter if you produce your staff card at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, it doesn't matter if you show them your Hong Kong Identity Card. They will only look at driving license or passport. So, if you don't drive and don't insanely carry your passport around with you, you will be refused entry. (and of course, every single person at your party has to produce this identification)

Oh, btw? This will only happen to you if you're a male Chinese in your twenties.

Very likely, some Chinese dudes did something and gave us all a bad name. But fuck it, I do hate this, this is discrimination right in your face.

Nope, it also happens to sweet, white, very English, young looking Cambridge first years who have their uni ID that clearly states their birth date, but no other identification. That once cost an establishment the patronage of all 25 others in our group. *prods idiots*

but it's typical practice to not accept school or uni ID, because they're too easy to fake... ^^" particularly NUS cards, you don't even have to fake one, it's not too difficult to get one... >_>

Yeah I know somone who managed to get student ID for some Digimon friends of his.

I'm shocked they didnt take Identity cards.

We had this problem in Edinburgh last week. I carry a provisional even though I don't drive, but my friends didn't, so fudge to our drinking plans.

It's just annoying though that they don't take HK ID cards or even staff cards from our workplace. Hell, me and my friends can't make ourselves look teenage even if we try >_>
