well I tend to use my own server because it's just another folder on my comp and I can arrange things, change file names etc without having to go through all the login and re-upload crap. Sometimes I do use walagata.com for remote pic hosting, but only if say I'm sharing doujinshi scans or something.
I sort the pics I shown on LJ according to year and month. I've got about 50MB of stuff in that folder now.
