Personally, I wish this whole mess would just end. I'm seriously regretting ever being near a computer on Thursday. However, Tri's a friend, and she won't be able to say anything on her behalf since this is a friend's only posting.
I believe the damage she's referring to you doing to the list is the fact that now, despite your comment about how the list was helpful and might benefit other people, anyone who's read your posts is going to have very negative thoughts about it. The bad's far outweighing the good. Never mind the fact that 70 odd people don't seem to have a problem w/ how the list is run, this is what's sticking in people's minds now. I'm willing to bet that this is why Tritorella got so upset about the whole LJ posting. It made me upset to read it, to be truthful.
She's made it very clear from the start that she will come down hard on anyone who violates the rules. Repeatedly. And she has, and not just to you. Hell, I've even been snapped back into line when I screwed things up, she's in no way picking on certain people. She's just trying to make a point in the most effective manner she knows possible. Could she have phrased her emails nicer? Yes. Would people pay attention to them that way? That's debatable, but most likely, there are people out there that would just ignore them then. She at least had the courtesy to email you privately about them. You were the one to take things public on your LJ, which, it's a free world, you're able to do what you want.
I know Tritorella has pretty much considered this topic finished after her post in your LJ earlier. I received your response to her last private email (the only one I was copied on), and since you had stated that you were considering the matter dropped as long as she didn't respond back, in your email to me and the other mod that the matter was indeed dropped. But I guess it isn't. I tend to think that this is more a matter between you and her than anything to do w/ the ml.
I'm sorry that you've had such a miserable experience over this. The purpose of the ml is to help writers, not frustrate the hell out of them. I'm sorry that I was preoccupied and made the mistake of approving your post, forgetting about the recent rule. You say it's not my fault, but yeah, it is. I'm not trying to start anything, and am not planning on saying anything else at this point. I'm probably one of the least confrontational people out here. It's just, as you admitted, things are coming off one-sided here, and a very good friend who has worked on the ml isn't able to say anything in her defense. So I'm trying to stand up and present a few things from her side, as simple as that.
