Oct. 5th, 2004 07:33 am*calls EDF Energy*
EDF: A majority of the network in [insert name of place] is still without power. It will be probably this afternoon before everything is restored. Some of the homes have power now, businesses will receive power last (goes on to explain about not wanting to overload network when power suddenly comes back etc, in case I'm an angry customer, but yo I understand)
Me: So should I get into work or not? ^^"
I could wait and call the office later... only it takes 1.5 hours to get to work and people probably won't be in till what, 8:30? Then I'll be at the office at oh, 10am if they tell me the power's back?
........BAH. Looks like I'll have to go. *gets her notebook and MP3 player and everything* That's potentially 3 hours of unnecessary travel on the train... ah well I am getting paid... *sigh* Maybe I can spend black-out time in office learning more sign language. I learned how to do A-Z yesterday XD
