You know those fics and bodice rippers where there's cheese all the way through, interspersed with porn, and then finally coming to a climax (lol) of cheesyness, followed by an ending that should have ended 2000 words ago but instead is followed by porn, just to make sure you know that the characters really love each other and will happily run towards to sunset together (and have sex happily ever after?)
My fic is only marginally less cheesy than that. Its ending is also only slightly less cheesy. I was struggling with it this morning and complaining about how cheesy it was, even though the whole fic is cheesy anyway. Liz said, "if it's supposed to be cheesy, let it be cheesy. There is no point in doing a half-arsed job." So, there we go.
But yeah, 70k words (or thereabouts), it's done. Now comes the massive edit of doom.
