More on IU

The story was going pretty slowly and I'm not into it enough to want to wait that long, so I went and spoiled myself slightly on Wikipedia.

................oh wow. I was right about some things without realising it. (I had another theory before, but after talking to Eugene in Halgita I got some other ideas, which turned out to be right.)

Just got to the point where Kiriya joined the party. How many more characters are there in this game? I'm losing track. Playing it feels like reading a fic that is promising but regrettably doesn't reach its full potential.

I'm hungry. Tomorrow I must remember to buy lots of junk food to keep at home and at work.

They have semicolons in their guts | David has problems | This game's title isn't its only problem

Reading something work-related. People who, in publicity material, use semicolons when they should be colons, should be rounded up and shot. Maybe nobody but me cares about these things these days.

*reads another work-related bit of writing* Okay, I know my own use of punctuation is messed up, but these people are far worse than me. English is their first language! Can someone please send them back to school?

Finished chapter 15 of cheesy fic last night. The chapters are pretty long and I might have to split and restructure them a bit if I do end up posting them, but they'll stay this way for now. For 16 I'm trying to write from Torgal's POV, just for some calming effects... because this David turned out, in some small ways, to have... problems. It's minor. Eagle-eyed people, and those who think a lot as they read rather than just read the story, might spot it. I guess it's a little compensation for not having any insanity in the fic.

[edit] The term "BFF" appeared in the fic. It's Khrynia's fault. She like, totally actually does say these things. (Scroll down to the bottom for her quotes) This means that, when Dave was quoting her words, he ended up saying BFF, too. XD

Trying to count the characters I have been able to use/can currently use/I think I will end up using in IU:

Capell, Sigmund, Aya, Edward, Eugene, Balbagan, Rico, Rucha, Michelle, Gustav (WTF), Vic, and Komachi and Touma in the future. I can use Salvio, Kiriya and Dominica to a certain extent. There will be two more in this group soon. But I can't use Genma the pink & purple ninja. D:

Honestly, I don't know what half of these characters are doing there. I haven't even bothered with equipping them all with good items. Rico and Rucha could be condensed into one character. Gustav is just to replace Balbagan when he goes off to emo and there is no one to break the rocks. GUSTAV IS A BEAR. Am I playing a beat-'em-up? Because it feels like it. A BEAR. (Balbagan vs Kuma - FIGHT!) Dominica doesn't seem to serve any purpose. Kiriya I don't know yet since I just got him, but at least he amuses me. His voice is horrible. Maybe there can be a Salvio/Kiriya thing. Or maybe Salvio is Kiriya's father. *snort*

The business of sitting there and crafting items feels like a MMORPG.

Actually, in the second half of the game, more character backgrounds are coming out, though most of them pretty basic, such as the reason why Edward followed Sigmund. I suppose it doesn't have to be anything epic. I find Eugene's impression of Sigmund pretty interesting, though. Arrogant and selfish. But that's because he didn't know the truth... >D I don't know the purpose of Aya's "true identity" and I suspect there isn't any.

Capell is eternally stupid and cowardly, with occasional outbursts of blind bravery. It's boring. Typical RPG lead.

I think I like Eugene and Michelle the best. Nobody knows what goes on in Eugene's back pack. Or Michelle's breasts, for that matter.

I'll play this game through till the end since I'm curious about the rest of the story, but its replay value is zero.
