Grandpa, I don't understand!

Team GB is for Great Britain, which means it doesn't include Northern Ireland, right? Otherwise it'd be team UK.

But looking at the photos, all the Team GB athletes are holding the Union Jack, which is the flag for the UK, not GB. Apparently there's a version of the flag that doesn't have the red diagonal cross, which is GB only, but they aren't using that.

It's staying-at-home day today. But after doses of painkillers + hot water bottle, I was able to wander out and walk around for a bit. I was meant to go on site too, today. (Not "look at this road" on site, but "go locate this headwall and possibly slide down the ditch for a closer look" on site) Of course that's not happening. I feel a bit bad for abandoning the industrial placement student who I'm supposed to be looking after, but there are two others also going so she'll be fine.

Watched the Olympics cycling races today. The Chinese women have such pretty uniforms. I like how the name of the country is in the middle of the subtle pattern on the back!

The US athlete doing the hurdles right now is wearing white shoes with SPARKLY RED SOLES. *_*
