Happy Chinese New Year. Hopefully I'll remember to call home at lunch time. Not doing anything special this year, but will be lunching with some Chinese friends this Sunday.

Woke up thinking "yay, headache gone!" but it's not true, apparently. But it's way better now. And my right eye's itching a hell of a lot. >_O

Getting the wrong thing tattooed - HAHAHA. I once saw someone had "Barbara" in Chinese tattooed BACK TO FRONT. I've also seen ones where they say the right thing, but it looks super-wonky to the Chinese speaking person because some strokes are too long or too skewed so that it just looked like ugly or childish handwriting. The "girl power" that Sporty Spice had on her arm also made absolutely no sense in Chinese. It just said "female" and "strength". Some things Don't Translate!

One wonders why people do that, get tattoos in a language they cannot understand at all. The tattoo artist most of the time don't know if they're doing the right thing and if they are, they can pull a really bad joke on you. I know Chinese is squiggly and pretty, but why, why. It's just such a bad idea.

Not to mention the game assume you're used to Zelda's gaming system anyway. Like, you can smash pumpkins! Slash grass for hearts! You might get different rewards by killing your enemies in different ways!
