Words

I'm watching telly and the only words that these people know are "like" and "nice". I do mean it, they use "nice" in every single bloody sentence:

"Oh, nice house."
"Oh, nice view, I like that."
"I like this, so nice!"
"Nice size!"
"This is nice isn't it?"
"It would be nice if we could knock this down..."
"But like... it's not like... it's just not nice."

I have some suggestions:

Use less of	Try instead
Like	Enjoy, love, don't mind, think it's not bad, for example, I mean, for instance, such as Or just stop to think what you actually want to say
Nice	Whatever you actually want to mean - good, bad, good for its job, bright, lovely, shit, gives me the shivers... etc.

"Nice" - I wonder if it's a British thing? To always be amiable (at least traditionally...) it's a word that doesn't offend anyone. But I think it's something that a lot of English speakers do too, not just British.

"Nice" and "like" are not bad words. I use "stupid" to describe everything I don't like (see, I think "like" is appropriate here"), BUT I don't do it everywhere/in front of everyone. It depends on who I'm talking to. When I'm making a work call and the lady on the other side is "like"-ing everything, I want to reach down the phone line and squeeze her throat.

I should change channel before this drives me Sanadas bananas.

Tezmobile is much more affectionate towards me when giving_ground isn't here. >_> She also seems to be a bit more relaxed. Liz, have you been frightening my cat tez_plush's vehicle? (Though, considering that she semes you...... it's more likely the other way around >_>)

Had a meeting today that went a lot better than I expected, but it means I missed the salary news. It'll probably be in an envelope on my desk tomorrow morning?

Went shopping. I have new shirts, finally. And a pair of new trousers. \o/ My bottom half is one to two size larger than my top, depending on which shop. What the hell. XD;

Also did a bit of cleaning. Made me feel productive.

Now back to poking at fic. Unless there's anything interesting on telly.
