I'm watching telly and the only words that these people know are "like" and "nice". I do mean it, they use "nice" in every single bloody sentence:
"Oh, nice house."
"Oh, nice view, I like that."
"I like this, so nice!"
"Nice size!"
"This is nice isn't it?"
"It would be nice if we could knock this down..."
"But like... it's not like... it's just not nice."
I have some suggestions:
"Nice" - I wonder if it's a British thing? To always be amiable (at least traditionally...) it's a word that doesn't offend anyone. But I think it's something that a lot of English speakers do too, not just British.
"Nice" and "like" are not bad words. I use "stupid" to describe everything I don't like (see, I think "like" is appropriate here"), BUT I don't do it everywhere/in front of everyone. It depends on who I'm talking to. When I'm making a work call and the lady on the other side is "like"-ing everything, I want to reach down the phone line and squeeze her throat.
I should change channel before this drives meSanadas bananas.

| Use less of | Try instead |
| Like | Enjoy, love, don't mind, think it's not bad, for example, I mean, for instance, such as Or just stop to think what you actually want to say |
| Nice | Whatever you actually want to mean - good, bad, good for its job, bright, lovely, shit, gives me the shivers... etc. |
