AND THERE'S GEN FIC I WANT TO WRITE BUT 1) I NEED TO LOOK BACK AT HOW FREDERICK TALKS and 2) IT'S ONE OF THOSE GAMES WHERE YOU CHOOSE THE SEX AND NAME OF YOUR CHARACTER AND THAT'S ALWAYS A BIT WEIRD TO WRITE ABOUT EVEN IF SAID CHARACTER WOULDN'T BE THE MAIN FOCUS OF MY GEN FIC.

Is there a default name in the game? Otherwise... that seems like it would be v confusing.

No default name that I know of! I need to check, maybe fandom has adopted a default name...

The default name is Robin in the North American localization and Reflet/Rufure in the Japanese. Fandom calls him/her MyUnit/MU (gaming fandom) or Avatar. ...not sure about fic fandom. I was poking around for an old Sacred Stones fic on the Pit of Voles and noticed people giving MU random Mary Sue names, so.. there's that.

p.s. you need to have Henry make babies with someone because Henry babies are the best babies. My Henry!Cynthia and Henry!Inigo were total killing machines. Frederick is kind of a mediocre dad, I had to marry him off to MU so I could marry Chrom to Olivia one time for Chrom!Inigo and that was prob my worst Morgan. By like, a lot.

Oh God, I still don't understand Henry. Did he just randomly join Chrom's army because he wants to kill things and Chrom just went "oh okay then"?! Not sure who to pair him with. Sully's with Virion, Cordelia's with Stahl, Nowi is getting on with Kellam (though the whole brother/sister thing is creeping me out), Panne is going for Vaike, Olivia is with Frederick (their conversations made me laugh so hard), Tharja is with Libra (likewise).

MU just married Lucina in mine and I got Morgan now, no idea what she's like yet! I wish they could have a boy but it's always opposite of MU's sex so oh well. :(

HAAHDSLJDSAHAH YOU NAMED HIM RAVIOLI. On my first runthrough on Lunatic mode, I decided I needed something to make me feel better about dying 45 times on every level, so I named my dude Pancake. The death speech is so much better. ("No! Not you, Pancake! Open your eyes! OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!")

Henry is my favorite, negl. I have NO IDEA why he exists but he's AMAZING. I think if you get him to talk to Tharja he reveals that he's just there to kill Plegians for funsies. Chrom lets him join because they're surrounded when he appears, and he might as well.

Sumiaaaaa! Henry/Sumia gives you Henry!Cynthia. Henry's my absolute favorite dad for Cynthia because her magic stat goes off the charts and she's the best Dark Flier or Falcon Knight in the game (other than girl!Morgan). Could also do Henry/Lissa. Maribelle? Miriel? Cherche? Henry is kind of wasted on Maribelle and Miriel, since those kids will have the Sorceror class anyway. Henry/Cherche gives you weird-lookin' Gerome and also... they have the cutest support conversations. In the world.

And holy shit, I've been meaning to try Lucina!Morgan. She is supposed to be insane, like the best character you could possibly have. Definitely for sure run Morgan through Peg Knight --> Dark Flier to get the Galeforce skill (if you kill an enemy, you get to move again in that turn with that character) and then switch her to whatever class you want to kill all the things.

I have so much headcanon for Ravioli and Chrom and Frederick etc already, it's embarrassing. >_>

HENRY KEEPS GETTING KILLED ARGH. I'm on newcomer mode but still, it's impossible to use him goddamit.

I've messed up most of the levelling stuff already by using master seals too early etc. This is my first FE game so I'm figuring it out as I go... but it should still be okay, it's good enough to finish the game I think. I'll be more careful and explore all the classes on the next playthrough!

I started out with F!MU. In my first runthrough, I had her marry Chrom because I went in knowing nothing about the child units (I supported them out of convenience, since it's helpful in the early stages, and voila, marriage). So I thought the dialogue was extra loaded and creepily romantic because my Chrom and MU were married. Well, my next playthrough after that was with M!MU, and the dialogue was EXACTLY THE SAME. I was like..... what. I can't-- what. XD Chrom and MU are interesting, shall we say!

(also F!MU/Frederick is hilariously cute even though that was my worst Morgan ;~;)

Really?!! Henry, fragile?! Tharja is pretty fragile without supports, but Henry is my magic tank... Keep him out of the range of archers and other long-range attackers for a few levels, but after that if he's not dodging, he should at least be able to take some damage because dark mages have high DEF. If you equip him with Nosferatu, it takes half the damage it deals to the enemy and adds it back to Henry's HP, so he becomes completely impossible to kill after a while. The Dark Mage/Sorceror classes also give magic and critical boosts, so he is my favorite adult unit by FAR. It helps that he is hilarious. His support conversations are the best. He's like.. a more unhinged and bloodthirsty version of Fuji.

And actually, the master-seals-too-early mistake is only a problem in all the other FEs. This one was designed to be almost infinitely customizable, so you can't actually mess up! Just reclass them back down to level 1 (with Second Seals - they'll be more plentiful later in the game) and keep leveling them up until their stats have maxed! (I mean, if you need to. The extra levels are extremely hard but the earlier Paralogues/regular chapters should be doable.) Definitely take advantage of the fact that you have Lucina!Morgan, though... you can't do that with F!MU~~~

Yeah I don't know what's wrong with Henry, iirc he's Dark Knight atm. Lucina!Morgan is okay so far, I'm levelling her up along with all the other kids atm on the easier maps, and also using Henry there because he has a better chance of survival. >_> A few people have just maxed out (Chrom, Frederick, Sumia, Ravioli... maybe I just relied on them too much and neglected others which is why some peeps are so weak still), I'm thinking about using second seals on them but GRAND MASTER and GREAT LORD are such awesome titles it feels a shame to lose them. XDDDDDDDDD

And oh I just did the sidestory to recruit Panne's son. Chose to fight ALL THE ARMIES, thank god for no permadeath because I only had 5 guys still standing at the end. orz
