Received a large delivery of wigs last week and I spent most of this week rewriting my shop's website, taking photos, writing descriptions and also putting the same things on eBay. I do like the look of the new site but I must've worked 12-18 hour days for at least 4 days... which is fine if you're used to it but I haven't done that since university. XD So now I'm exhausted. I'm awake but there's that weird boneless-ness in my limbs.
Still, on Friday Storme and I went to the Within Temptation gig in London. They did their latest album plus What Have You Done, Stand My Ground, Mother Earth, and one song at encore which I didn't recognise. It was really, really good. Even the warm up band was good. And now I've realised she is the one who did the acoustic duet of "Somewhere" with Sharon. I really liked that version, no wonder I thought she was really good at the gig!
On Friday morning I failed my second driving test. This time it was my fault. The first time though, there was no way I could've passed since I got the examiner who's well known in my town for not passing anyone (and even forcing people to stop mid-route, confiscating their keys and walking off. I was already lucky that did not happen to me.)
On Saturday we went out and did shopping for home stuff like screwdrivers and curtains and sucker hooks. It was all very couple-y. XD So Friday and Saturday were sort-of my weekend. Today I'd been working again, and watching Storme play Skyrim. The jury's still out on that game. The voice acting is really flat. With that, and the gameplay, Storme said it reminds her of Fable 2 and I agree.
The cat's taken my space on the sofa so I have to sit on the arm. >_>
Going to see friends in Bristol next weekend. And then the weekend after that, a few other friends (hopefully including
dystopiarcadia) are coming over for cakes, baking, costumes and whatever else we can think of. And then I'm sure various Christmas drinks/parties/things will start. It's strange, this social life thing. If you tell me a year or two ago that I was going to be this busy with socialising I would've laughed.
What else? Hmm. GO TO MY SITE AND BUY SOME STUFF, GODDAMMIT.
[edit] Oh yeah, we went to Distant Worlds last weekend! They played "Zanarkand". *____* To be honest they could've spend three hours just playing that on repeat and I would've been happy.

Date: 2011-11-14 07:17 am (UTC)I found Fable boring and repetitive and even michael fassbender's acting couldn't redeem it, but I LOVED the witcher games
they're about to release Witcher 2 on the xbox as well
it's not american, it's polish, and the art is gorgeous and the voice acting top notch - which surprised me right off
it's based on a set of books which i only read because i played the games.
i rec them to everyone
good luck on the third test!

Date: 2011-11-14 09:07 am (UTC)I keep hearing people recommend the Witcher games but I am a bit put off by the lack of gay (Bioware has spoiled me utterly).

Date: 2011-11-14 10:58 am (UTC)they are much better than dragon age, but the main character, Geralt is a man whore and the women are easier, there is a lesbian brothel in the first one
well it's full of lesbian vampires but you don't have to kill them, you can have sex with them instead
you can pay whores on street corners too
there is a huge war going on so there's not that many men in it, they're at the front lines... however there is a dragon, harpies, and a bard called dandelion (it sounds so less girly in polish - Jaskier)
the books however are full of it, not just subtext but actual characters (one of the gay characters appears in the second game but it's never said that he is) and the sorceress' coven is quite incestuous
it's just it didn't sacrifice story for it, there is a plot, and it's really good and there is clearly going to be a third one
it picks up directly where the books end but you don't need to have read them
GOG has the first one for $9.99 with all the patches, dlc and a huge amount of extras to boot (including the gorgeous artbooks)

there is gay in them, it's not just as in your face blatant as it is in dragon age
i wouldn't compare anything to fable as a compliment
